Nice move from Microsoft, but I doubt they did that just because they love students, and wanted to contribute to the community.

Microsoft supported languages, ASP, .NET etc. are fighting a losing battle against Java, PHP, Ruby, Perl, Python etc. As well as *NIX servers are gaining popularity on server industry.

They must learn to make their languages to work for all environments, not just in windows servers. Maybe then, I will pay for their products and try to learn...
